Patch tick No 134

not bad for 5 yrs on an inland reservoir.

A drk Mandarin was reported by a trusted birder at Stithians around the middle of November off the top of my head, not that you can mistake the ID anyway. It flew in with some Mallard at dusk and wasnt reported again for three weeks when, once again, it flew in at dusk with Mallard. This evening i had to stop off to top up the feeding station so decided on half an hour in the hide beforehand. Sure enough, for the only the third time in three months it appeared again, at dusk with Mallard!

The bird hasnt been reported in the county in between it's visits to Stithians so lord knows where it's been inbetween.

Lovely looking bird, a pleasure to see. As a nest recorder do i care about its status and credentials? - Not one sod......
