Blackcap - a day early!

More heavy rain and strong wind has once again kept me at home twiddling thumbs. At least as I write this there's a clear sky outside now giving hope of getting out tomorrow.

The garden today has chucked up a surprise - a male Blackcap appeared flitting around the buddelia. It's the first once since a female was present for a week way back in February. Typical that it came today though meaning it cannot be included in the BTO's Blackcap survey starting tomorrow.

The garden record for Chaffinch has fallen again today, now stands at 10. Sadly no sign of the Greenfinch though.

Plan for tomorrow - Thrush walk and then out to the North cliffs to count Fulmar that have returned from their moulting grounds.
