A post too early, colour rings and a new species

Yesterday I blogged too early as a couple of hours later whilst Tracey was sitting in the garden she saw something that wasnt a Buzzard so banged on the window to get me. 2 Red Kite drifting over, very nice.

We also paid a visit to the coast to do some nest recording. This young Cormorant was being fed

This Oystercatcher has three eggs underneath her

and the Guillemot chicks are hatching

This afternoon we had a walk down the road on the Flat Lode Trail, a circular walk around the old ruins of Cornish tin mining. On one of the buildings was this colour ringed Jackdaw. We also saw a pair of Stock Dove.

This Large Red Damselfly appeared in the garden today and is a new species. It's the first record of a Damselfly in the garden, however it's not the first time one has appeared. I have had a couple before but failed to identify them.

It's been a good weekend.........
