Magpie

Found this afternoon - Magpie on 4 eggs. Another set of battle scars from a nest made in Blackthorn. This season I have found around 10 Magpie nests, all in Blackthorn and all empty. This was a very pleasing nest.

Also the empty Wren nest I found last week now has 3 eggs in it

A clutch of Blackbird chicks have begun hatching

Not all good news though as a Song Thrush nest has been predated and heavy rain forecast for tomorrow....
