Today was WeBS day so it a quick wander down through the local woods to the lake. Some of the birds are beginning to sing again namely Robin and Wren, with Coal Tit and Blue Tit heard calling. My first Great Tit calling since the height of the breeding season was heard last weekend. The lake itself was quiet, no sandpipers resting from yesterday's appalling weather, only three being recorded -
On the weekly garden birdwatch however an impressive 24 species were recorded including the first Tree Bumblebee since recording began in 2010.
