Some images from our recent holiday on Mull can be found here courtesy of my wife. One of the highlights of the holiday was a boat trip giving us views of a feeding group of 3000+ Manx Shearwater.
Back home and my nest boxes are not faring too well. Last week I pulled 8 dead from 32 boxes and to be honest with the weather that we've had since I thought the worst of the mortalities was over. It came as a great shock to do a box round yesterday and pull 35 dead including two complete broods close to fledging out of the same boxes. This is the first year I have had boxes in the woods so frustratingly I have no data from 2012 when we had the wettest April and June on record......
