ring details back and a Barn Owl

Thanks to the ringer Mark Grantham I now have the life history of the gull I saw last Saturday -

Staying on the ringing front another of Mark's birds, Cormorant orange TBY was viewed at Stithians reservoir during the week having been ringed as a nestling on Mullion Island on 24th April.

Unfortunately it's not all positive - A freshly dead Barn Owl was found on the roadside this week with the ring no FH50364 having been ringed at Kergilliack just outside Falmouth in June 2011.

One positive to come out of the Barn Owl's untimely death was that it gave me an opportunity to show and talk about Barn Owls to a father and his three children living on my street as he tries to get his boys into birdwatching...
